Job description
Position Overview: As a Controls Engineer with Allen Bradley Experience, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and implementing control systems for a variety of industrial applications. This position requires proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, a strong understanding of automation principles, and the ability to deliver reliable and efficient control solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Control System Design:
- Design and develop control system architectures for industrial automation projects.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
PLC Programming:
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) to meet project objectives.
- Develop and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions.
SCADA Systems:
- Design and implement Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs to provide comprehensive control and monitoring.
Instrumentation and Networking:
- Specify and select instrumentation devices for control system applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet).
Commissioning and Testing:
- Lead the commissioning and testing of control systems on-site.
- Collaborate with field engineers to ensure proper installation and functionality.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including control system drawings, manuals, and user guides.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and accessible for future reference.
Collaboration with Project Teams:
- Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Provide technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer with a focus on Allen Bradley systems.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000).
- Experience with SCADA software (FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, etc.).
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, instrumentation, and networking.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
