You will help define the technical vision to improve accessibility of data and mentor world class data engineering teams in their development and drive operational excellence. You will partner closely with Analytics, Science and Marketing teams to design, build and operate data pipelines at scale.

Responsibilites
Help create and maintain an engineering culture that embraces diversity and fosters trust and innovation in teams
Build and mentor high-performance teams focusing on replicating core Marketing data from various platforms to our data lakehouse/warehouse for Reporting, Analytics, Marketing Science use cases
Develop strong technical platform vision and build foundations for our teams to maximize scalability and maintainability within our pipelines and increase data reliability
Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects, Data Engineers and other Data Engineering managers to design and architect data solutions to meet our business needs
Create an environment that fosters accountability and set high standards for our data deliverables
Be an active participant in Sprint rituals and help tweak processes in driving execution efficiency
Participate in design review process and help drive consensus and team alignment
Have the ability to comprehensively document and align design with broad scope and impact
Be a strong peer, comfortably participating in meetings at leadership level to help drive alignment and understanding
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Master’s Degree a Plus
Basic Requirements
2+ years of direct people management, technical leadership, mentoring and building a team
8+ years of relevant professional experience in the data engineering field
5+ years of experience using analytics SQL, working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform, Redshift
Expertise with programming languages commonly used in data engineering such as Python, R
Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow, Oozie, YARN, Celery
Insightful understanding of data pipeline design and architecture methodologies
Keen ability to take high-level direction, work through ambiguity and drive to execution in an iterative model.
Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating on large scale pipelines
Strong understanding of Continuous Delivery, and Agile development
Familiarity with data exploration / data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Chartio

The hiring range for this position in California and Connecticut is $164,492 - $220,660 per year, in Seattle and NYC is $172,282 - $231,110 per year, and in San Francisco is $180,154- $241,670 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
