University Housing & Dining Services, at Oregon State University, is looking to fill multiple Cook 2 positions. These are full-time, regular (12-month), classified positions on the Corvallis campus.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that guests of UHDS dining operations receive an appealing, nutritious and satisfying meal. This position has responsibility for coordinating the food production for a designated area, preparing foods for special diets, maintaining adequate product, and training students and staff on cooking methods and procedures. This is done by providing leadership and role-modeling on how to maintain high quality food and how to prepare menu items using solid cooking methods with a focus on safety and sanitation. This position is required to support the established professional standards, policies and procedures of the work unit, department, and university.
University Housing & Dining Services offers a variety of dining options across the Oregon State University campus. We are a self-operated food service department that serves food in micro-restaurants using fresh ingredients. We are known for the great care we take of students and other guests.
University Housing & Dining Services houses over 4,800 students and offers a variety of living and dining options in 15 residence halls, three dining centers, a market, catering, and 10-14 dining and coffee shop locations across the Corvallis campus. We employ over 150 professional dining employees and 800 student employees. We provide clean, sanitary working environments for our guests and employees that are regularly maintained and serviced. And we partner with Benton County Health to help ensure we are operating at the highest safety levels. Everyone is welcome to eat at any dining location on campus, so come check us out.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Two years of cooking experience in an institution or commercial firm serving complete meals; OR an Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Foods and Hospitality Service, or a directly-related field.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-055-0000 et seq.
