Overview

CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island Neb. in 1887. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. This position contributes to the mission and vision of CHI Health by having responsibility for patient meal service on assigned units, e.g., menu selection, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special request and needs, in between meal food delivery. Communicates patients’ food issues, concerns, and needs to Food and Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patients nutrition needs or requirements. Assist registered dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO; clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intakes for patients as assigned. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure timeliness of services and accuracy of physician ordered modified diets. Is familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Preferred:

Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care in a hospital setting and/or 1
year minimum in food service.
Knowledge equivalent to a high school education.
