Summary : Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a professional by utilizing the nursing process in caring for patients from admission to discharge. Is responsible for incorporating general, age-specific and unit specific competencies into the care provided and is responsible for adherence to Marlborough Hospital standards and standards in accordance with the licensure of Registered Nurses by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and American Nursing Association The Registered Nurse employed in the Operating Room will have demonstrated expertise in nursing process. The OR Nurse provides nursing care to clients incorporating current nursing practice skills, communication strategies, current research and evaluation skills. Qualifications :1 YR OR experience or graduate of Periop 101; or will consider and train candidates with 3 years Medical-Surgical nursing experience with completion of Perioperative 101 within first year.
BLS certification required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred. Computer skills preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prioritization and organizational abilities. Ability to work flexible and rotating shifts. ACLS. 1 Year OR experience or Graduate of Periop Course 101. Member of AORN preferred. CNOR certification preferred.
