Special Needs Assured Executive Director Job Description
Oversee all functions of Special Needs Assured and ensure they are implemented:
Financial Management
Develop an annual budget for approval by the Board and manage Special Needs Assured in compliance with the budget
Oversee all deposits of funds, dispensing of funds, and prepared financial statements
Oversee selection and use of vendors, office equipment, and materials
Ensure responsible use of funds by Special Needs Assured in a fiduciary capacity
Manage a system of donation management to ensure data integrity
Staff and Volunteer Management
Oversee job descriptions, manage work, and provide feedback for paid staff and volunteers
Ensure staff participate in planning and management in their respective areas of expertise
Develop and oversee a program to formally recognize staff and volunteer work
Fundraising and development
Establish and maintain relationships with foundations, trusts, businesses, industries, and individuals who contribute financially
Solicit funding formally and informally
Coordinate with the Fundraising Committee to develop a (minimum) quarterly plan to raise funds.
Develop and write all grants for funding and identify gift-in-kind opportunities
Educational Programs
Oversee the development of educational materials with learning objectives
Locate and schedule new opportunities to present. Conduct presentations
Ensure advertising and printed promotional materials are accomplished before the event.
Develop relationships with staff and directors to foster opportunities for future presentations.
Set up ABLE accounts
Follow up with participants to ensure their questions are answered.
Community Giving and Trust Funding Program
Oversee the development and implementation of a scholarship and/or grant giving program.
Coordinate giving efforts with Special Needs Assured personnel and community stakeholders
Follow up with recipients and coordinating locations as the need arises
Marketing and Public Relations
Compose and distribute news releases
Manage Special Needs Assured’s social media presence
Create and produce promotional materials
Make presentations to civic organizations and other groups upon request
Engage with TV, radio, cable station, and newspapers for Public Service Announcements
Internal Expectations
Coordinate developing a strategic plan with the Board.
Ensure all annual federal and state filings are accomplished.
Attend all Board Meetings and all committee meetings unless excused by the committee.
Take notes/minutes at meetings and distribute them.
Demonstrate flexibility to be available for evening and weekend work plus irregular work hours
Drive to various events within the KC Metro and work up to 80 hours per month
