Job description
- AGENCY AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES - necessary to meet overall agency goals and provide support to management and program staff. 40%
- Adheres to agency and program policy and procedure manual.
- Orients and trains program staff
- Supervises program staff to ensure appropriate service delivery through field
- Observes and provides consistent supervision in accordance with CHD Supervision policy
- Assists program staff with time management: manages logistics of client coverage and assists when necessary
- Ensures coverage and contracted services are delivered to any client in program in event that the assigned staff is unable to work
- Participates in team approach, sharing responsibility for client services and eliciting input from the team
- Helps develop accountability systems for staff and clients
- Hires, terminates, promotes, evaluates, and disciplines staff as needed
- Conducts regular supervisory meeting with program staff
- Arranges staff trainings
- Assures adherence to program treatment philosophy
- Assist in ensuring that program’s goals and objectives are met
- Develops accountability systems for staff
- Assure that all services are effectively delivered
- Monitor the quality of all program activities
- PROGRAM AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES:
- Provide weekly supervision to caseworkers
- Attend weekly supervision meetings
- Work with funding sources and ensure reporting is done in a timely manner
- Meet with collaborators on a monthly basis
- Participate in community events and fundraising events
- ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES/RECORD KEEPING-
- Keep accurate case notes
- Review monthly reports that caseworkers are contractually obligated to have filled out and submitted in.
- Review monthly client information in client database in a timely manner
- Submit expense and travel reimbursement sheets biweekly.
- Approves and monitors time-off requests submitted by program staff
- Keep track of client payments of rent for program in which that is required
- Submit client’s payment of rent to Fiscal on a timely manner.
- PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT-
- Seeks and use supervisory staff for training and supervision
- Attend agency required trainings
- Participate in relevant agency and/or community task force and committees
- Engage in self-evaluation to develop professional goals
- Able to react to change productively and to handle other task assigned due to changing environments
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire, and Franklin county area resources.
- A working knowledge of homelessness issues in families and individuals.
- An understanding of how trauma affects individuals and families.
- Be able to juggle numerous tasks at once
- Be comfortable working independantly
- Good communication skills.
- Experience supervising caseworkers
- WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily works in the Diversion, Shelter, and Housing main office.
- Statewide and local travel
- Flexibility in scheduling required based on program needs
