The Director, Technical Entertainment Integration will serve as a key strategic business partner collaborating across the global Disney Live Entertainment team along with the broader DX stakeholders. The role is responsible for bringing the Disney entertainment experience to life in all global locations. In partnership with peers and key stakeholders, this position integrates and guides the strategic direction, development, and technical production of distinctive live entertainment for and in support of all locations. This position develops, implements, and supports fully-integrated strategies and standards to achieve Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and Disney Cruise Line entertainment objectives. Working with and at the direction of the Senior Vice President, Live Entertainment this role is responsible for both the functional leadership and global integration and assessment of key ideas, creative concepts, and production implementation for new and existing entertainment product.
Responsible for functional leadership of global technical resources, inclusive of Entertainment Readiness and Entertainment Business Systems teams (Tech Producers, Application Managers, Application Admins, Program Managers)
Responsible for leading the team that supports all Disney Live Entertainment systems and applications
Fully integrate with the VP Live Entertainment North America, VP Live Entertainment international, and VP Creative and Advanced Development to build a world class global entertainment organization
Responsible for developing a Disney Live Entertainment technology global framework and associated processes to support delivery of live entertainment across both domestic and international sites
Responsible for elevating and setting the vision for the Disney Live Entertainment technology global community of resources
Responsible for identifying and making recommendations for new technology and vendors based on latest industry trends and has in depth knowledge and awareness of the global resource marketplace
Responsible for partnering with Research and Development to identify new opportunities to elevate technical capabilities within entertainment offerings
Responsible for integrating technology across the global entertainment team– creating a community of shared resources, practices, and talent
Responsible for vetting, delivering on standards, and testing vendors to turn around a proof of concept to expand the technical toolbox
Responsible for conducting benchmarking to make recommendations on latest industry trends and builds in depth knowledge and awareness of the global marketplace
Responsible for developing global standards and safety
Responsible for integrating and partnering with the regional Executive, Technology to define project needs, assess feasibility and recommend design and production strategies that most effectively realize project goals
Responsible for ensuring there is a detailed inventory of global assets, venue capabilities and other technical resources that might be leveraged globally
Responsible for serving as a champion for virtual production strategies, tools and resources
Responsible for broad-based Company and regulatory compliance
Responsible for developing and maintain close partnerships with FOS, WDI (R&D), Operations and TWDC leaders to ensure stakeholder interests are included in Disney Live Entertainment project deliverables
Responsible for serving as the Executive champion for Safety
Responsible for being an active participant in WDI advisory councils
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience, leading and inspiring technical or theatrical teams.
Strong leadership, credibility, collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills with production, creative, and technical groups.
Transparent leader with sound decision making and interpersonal skills
Recognized global leader with a history of delivering innovative technologies used in the themed entertainment or theatrical industries.
Confident and effective communicator who demonstrates deep personal character and optimism.
Ability to inspire, influence, and integrate across multiple sites and businesses in a diverse, multi-discipline team environment
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, organize, take initiative, and adapt to changing conditions.
