Job description
The IC, Passives, ASIC and Optics Sourcing ( IPAO ) team within Systems Supply Chain & Technology Enabling creates sourcing strategies and supply chain solutions that deliver value for our partners and customers. This is a great opportunity to join the IPAO team as an ASIC Strategist, developing and driving ASIC sourcing strategy and solutions that will help create the next generation of technologies at Intel.
The ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Strategist will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Developing, owning and driving a comprehensive Intel ASIC supply chain sourcing strategy. Collaboration and influence at the PE, Product Architect, and GM levels will be required across Intel and with targeted suppliers in the supply chain.
- Form mutually beneficial relationships with all Business units. Gain insight into product roadmaps and sourcing needs and comprehend them in the strategy and supplier selections.
- The candidate will lead cross-functional, cross-organizational, and industry teams through the sourcing, selection, delivery, support and end of life phases of the ASIC supply chain.
- The candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, business analysts, commodity managers, and other specialists from TMG , GSCO , Business Units, Intel Capital, Finance, and Legal to synthesize technical, commercial, financial, and industry/market inputs into a cohesive multi-generation business strategy.
- A deep understanding of ASIC IP requirements and their deployment in product designs is required, along with the ability to reflect those requirements in our supplier selections and ASIC strategy.
- A broad understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing industry, associated markets, and the Intel manufacturing environment, are desired.
- Developing ASIC should-cost modeling and internal make vs. buy decision models.

- Consistent record of achieving significant business results. Aligns goals and timelines to stakeholder expectation, highlights roadblocks and solutions to overcome them.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deploy broad range of supply chain techniques and methodologies to achieve results.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
- 8-10 years of engineering related experience.
- Available to travel 10-20 percent in the US and Asia.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct ASIC architecture and design experience, preferably with an Intel business unit.
- MBA or completion of an Executive Management Program desired.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $162,600.00-$284,620.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
