The Senior Category Manager spearheads purchasing and supply management activities across various indirect spend categories, including electrical, filters, motors, metals, office supplies, personal protective equipment, pipe, power transmission, valves, and fittings. The primary objective is to achieve significant initial cost reductions while simultaneously enhancing product quality and supplier service levels. Employing a standardized procurement framework, the Senior Category Manager assesses internal and external market dynamics, strategically navigating commercial, specification, and demand parameters. This role entails overseeing the strategic procurement process, implementing governance mechanisms to minimize value leakage, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to devise and execute cost reduction strategies.
Provides market insights to the commercial teams around supply, demand, forecast, and pricing trends in material markets.
This role demands a strategic mindset coupled with methodical execution. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for cost reduction, along with exceptional negotiation, project management, and problem-solving abilities. Candidates should have over 5 years of successful experience in procurement, preferably within the Chemicals, FMCG, or Automotive industry. A bachelor's degree from a recognized university, combined with an MBA, is preferred.
