Senior Quality Engineer
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, Epox this position develops, maintains, and improves all aspects of G&W’s quality program as it relates to production operations. This includes shop floor problem solving, coordination with the supplier quality team for vendor SCAR completion, process FMEA creation and review, NCR’s and Control Plans. This position will also help manage implementation of product, process, and equipment changes to existing G&W operations.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
Perform problem solving to identify robust root causes and permanent corrective actions
Advocate product excellence and quality
Review standard work documentation and audit processes for existing, modified, and new manufactured products
Perform operational MRB walks
Communicate with engineering, suppliers, and operations status of issues, process improvements, or other activities as needed
Conduct ISO 9001-based audits at G&W and supplier locations
Support new product implementations ensuring a robust product and process are released
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related area, or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in a role related to quality assurance
Extensive experience problem solving complex issues
Experience developing and maintaining FMEAs and control plans
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with multiple levels and departments within the organization
PPAP and APQP experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Knowledge of GD&T principles
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
General Office Environment, PC use
Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
