Job description

Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. As a Mechanical Technician working at Element Boxborough, you will be involved in a broad range of industries including commercial Aerospace, the Department of Defense, medical, and consumer products. We perform many types of testing that you will be directly planning for, setting up, performing, monitoring, and supporting including fire spread testing on network equipment, fluid flow conditioning of various media (fuels, oils, air, water), to name a few." This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global Testing, Inspection and Certification business.

Salary: $31-41/hr depending on experience

• Interpretation of internal and client requirements
• Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records
• Writing test procedures in accordance with customer provided details and/or relevant testing standards
• Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system
• Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
• Technical review of test reports, data interpretation and analysis

• Educated to a good general standard including English and Math
• Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant materials related discipline
• Hands-on job
• Sound mechanical bias
• Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage
• Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous
• An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• An understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams is a distinct advantage
• Experience with AC and DC electrical circuits is a distinct advantage
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
