Job description
The Community Relations Department of USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is seeking a part time (20 hrs/wk.) Resource Specialist to aid with meeting the vision of the Community Resource Center for Aging (CRCA) for our Foothill communities. As a resource center focused on the aging network we strive to educate and assist community members with determining the most appropriate and least restrictive services and supports for older persons, always focused on their dignity and independence. This position is fixed term, funded by a 24-month project grant. Beyond this term, the position is contingent upon receipt of outside funding.
Minimum Education:Bachelors or masters in social work (BSW, MSW) or related field - such as nursing, psychology, public health, or gerontologyMinimum Experience/Knowledge: Knowledge of health issues affecting older adults Direct service provider to individuals and groups, including family caregivers Experience with brief consultation and care management modalities Experience developing, coordinating, and facilitating community partnerships Experience in providing community group presentations and trainings Demonstrated skills with networking and fostering collaboration Working knowledge of multiple software applications, including social media Bi-lingual in English and Armenian and/or English and Spanish languagesAs part of Keck Medicine of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is the only community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles backed by an academic medical center.
