Spirit and Truth Ministry Organist Role and Responsibility & Work Agreement St. Agnes Catholic Church "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." John 4:23 The Weekend Organist/Pianist is a part-time position reporting directly to the Pastor. The Weekend Organist/Pianist is responsible for the music and plays the organ/piano for weekend Masses and other liturgies and worship experiences as available. The Weekend Organist/Pianist must be a practicing Roman Catholic who possesses the technical skills necessary to provide suitable musical accompaniment. He or she will work collaboratively with the pastor, parish staff, and/or cantors. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Play the organ/piano for: A. Saturday 5:30 pm and Sunday 7:30, 9:30, 11:30 am Liturgies B. Easter Triduum, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day C. Though not required there is an opportunity to cover additional liturgies, including but not limited to: Holy Days of obligation, Baptism Ceremonies, First Reconciliation, Communion, Confirmations, Eucharistic Adoration, Ash Wednesday, Thanksgiving morning, Annual St. Joseph Novena, Weddings & Funerals (all stipend separately) 3. Collaborate with cantor for liturgies and be available for .5 hour of rehearsal time prior to a liturgy 4. If the organist expresses interest, further conversation may be had related to coordinating a schola for special liturgies. Appropriate remuneration would be offered. Of note, this is NOT a requirement of the position. (Schola is defined as a small chorus of 4-8 individuals who perform polyphonic arrangements, who are auditioned, and then appointed in collaboration with and by the Pastor.) Remuneration: Stipend will be negotiated according to the candidate's technical skills and experience. 7. Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the pastor Other 1. The Weekend Organist/Pianist is a salaried position paid every other week.
