Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sr. Biostatistician for the department of Neurosurgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Sr. Biostatistician to provide independent statistical support to Neurosurgery principal investigators including statistical study design, statistical programming, data manipulation, and data analysis. The Senior Biostatistician will participate in statistical methodology research. The Senior Biostatistician will also assist in the reporting, tracking, and billing of project requests.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provide independent statistical support to Neurosurgery research projects, demonstrating expertise in biostatistics, statistical analysis software, and relevant clinical research methods. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement statistical models, manage databases, and ensure effective communication of statistical concepts to non-statistical audiences.
- Critically evaluate statistical analysis plans for clinical trials and epidemiological studies, propose plans, and conduct sample size calculations. Prepare datasets for analysis by cleaning, merging, and reformatting data. Utilize SAS and/or R for statistical data analysis, computation, and programming.
- Support the execution of clinical trials, including the generation and maintenance of randomization lists. Manage and maintain study data, actively participating in grant development by providing input into hypotheses, study design, power calculations, and comprehensive statistical analysis plans.
- Contribute to the development of professional presentations and manuscript publications, ensuring clarity in statistical methodology sections and summarizing results through text, tables, and figures. Assist Neurosurgery Biostatistics faculty in statistical method research and grant applications.
- Perform various assigned tasks, including tracking project requests, monitoring completion progress, and estimating hours required for completion. Assist in maintaining client records and invoicing upon project completion.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- A PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or related field is required, plus a minimum of three (3) years' work experience in biomedical research in academia, government, or industry.
