Job description
Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP seeks a Senior Associate with 4-7 years of litigation experience to join its headquarters in New York City. NY & NJ bar admissions are required for diverse practice including but not limited to professional liability, securities litigation, labor & employment, and insurance broker liability. We are looking for candidates with experience in civil litigation and a demonstrated ability to independently move cases toward resolution or trial. Skills & Competencies • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively • Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills • Position requires strong knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and effectively prioritize multiple tasks • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation • Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential Responsibilities: • Drafting legal documents such as pleadings and motions is a key responsibility • Assisting in the discovery process by drafting demands, analyzing responses, and reviewing document productions • Conducting thorough legal research to support cases • Collaborating closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects and assignments • Handling court appearances and depositions regularly • Providing updates to clients and carriers on case statuses • Efficiently organizing and prioritizing workload Qualifications: • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Must be admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey • Requires 4-7 years of relevant experience in litigation • Court appearances and deposition experience required • Experience in drafting summary judgment motions and other legal motions is necessary • In-depth knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is a must About Company: Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP (“WSS”) is a nationally recognized law firm founded three decades ago.
