How you'll make an impact Primary Function: The Claims Advocacy Manager is a working Claims Advocate who directly manages supervisors and/or team leaders. This position partners with sales professionals to support the challenging claims needs of typically large, sophisticated client organizations that require a higher level of service. This position will serve as a consultant and advocate claims to meet the expectations of the clients they serve.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages and evaluates the performance of client advocacy staff directly reporting to this position, including completing performance reviews, implementing training and development plans, performing disciplinary action, recognizing and rewarding colleagues, and making compensation decisions.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the claims advocacy team.
- Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness and working effectively together enabling each employee and the department to succeed.
- May take on claims concerns that are elevated for a proper resolution.
- Works with the sales professional to proactively manage the property/casualty claims programs for assigned clients.
- Monitors larger and more complex claims, demonstrating the ability to manage and communicate complex claims issues for key accounts.
- Attends client meetings, claims reviews, reviews claims statuses, action plans and reserves using advanced problem resolution skills.
- Negotiates for changes in reserves for a positive client outcome.
- Provides status reports to clients and keeps sales professionals, account management and claims staff informed.
- Actively researches and obtains claims data from carriers and challenges adjusters as warranted while advocating the best possible outcome for clients.
- Provides initial and on-going advocacy on claims including detailed analysis, interpretation, consultation and negotiation of coverage and reserves.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
About you Required:
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience;
- 7 years' claims related experience.
- Strong knowledge of claim and coverage issues.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to delegate and allocate resources as appropriate.
- Strong knowledge and working ability to use all claims and business related software.
Preferred:
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
