Description of duties:
*) Perform routine manual work in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and other related duties as assigned.
*) Sweeps, mops, and scrubs floors; strips and waxes floors; dusts; cleans windows and screens; replenishes housekeeping supplies; empties and cleans receptacles; cleans light fixtures; cleans and disinfects water fountains, wash basins, toilets, and showers in accordance with approved infection control methods; removes dust and mildew/mold from doors/doorframes and walls which are not easily accessible; cleans walls top to bottom with tools/cleaning solutions require for each particular surface; cleans A/C vents.
*) Operates heavy-duty industrial cleaning equipment; moves and arranges furniture for cleaning projects; power washes sidewalks and stairs.
*) Reports maintenance needs on the units to the supervisor.
*) May volunteer as a "runner" for a 12-week rotational period or as a backup to the runner to drive a car, van or truck to provide the following services daily, if the incumbent has a valid type 3 driver's license.
*) Cleans Plant Operations; dust mops offices and conference room; empty trash receptacles; cleans bathrooms inside and outside of the building.
*) Makes deliveries as required.
*) Picks up mail in the Administration Building.
*) Checks in at Bldg. Q frequently for deliveries and responds to radio calls from the supervisor.
*) Empties trash in the Security Office and Security Guard Shack.
*) Picks up trash at Plant Operations in the afternoon.
*) Picks up dirty mop heads from units between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.
*) Picks up Bio-Hazard containers.
*) Cleans Building Q floors/bathrooms/empties trash.
Other related duties as assigned:
*) Completes annual HSH mandatory training that includes but is not limited to Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution (CPMR), Infection Control, Fire/Safety, and Patient's Rights and Safety.
*) Attends in-service training, staff meetings, and pertinent workshops, and participates in drills.
*) Equipment to be used Mob, broom, strip and wax buffing machines, wet vacuum, power washer, vacuum, and any other cleaning equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
*) Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, housekeeping equipment, tools, and chemicals.
*) Ability to lift and carry heavy furniture and equipment.
*) Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
*) Ability to operate heavy industrial-type cleaning equipment.
*) Have a valid driver's license (Type 3 driver's license preferred).
*) Able to read/speak English. Able to lift 50 pounds.
