Position Summary
The College of Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a fixed-term, annual-year faculty position at 12.79% in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with an anticipated start date of March 15 th . The assignment is expected to end September 30, 2024, with a possible extension based on continued funding and mutual agreement.
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to regularly meet with ECE faculty to discuss project progress, objectives, and tasks; provide critical evaluation and feedback on machine design concepts and direction; lend expertise in fault diagnosis and prognosis; collaborate with others in the development of fault detection and operation methods and to ensure alignment with project goals and milestones; review experimental results from testing the 6-phase electric motor; evaluate the performance of the fault-tolerant controller through experimental tests; provide critical reviews of proposed high-speed motor designs to inform future design selections and prototyped manufacturing, considering aspects such as electromagnetic, thermal, and structural performance, system integration, vehicle dynamics and handling, and manufacturing feasibility.
