Purpose of the Position : This position will assist individuals to adopt healthy behaviors related to Childhood Injury Prevention. Collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage childhood injury prevention. In addition, as a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, this position conducts inspections as scheduled for Cobb and Douglas Safe Kids Coalitions and provides educational injury prevention sessions for the general public. Positions in this job are scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits.T his position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to ):
Minimum Qualifications : Completion of a bachelor’s degree in education, social, behavioral or biological sciences or a directly related field. Two years of providing community education or related work experience may substitute for degree.
Job Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of health care/preventive methods and techniques.
2. Knowledge of teaching methods and practices.
3. Ability to present information and materials objectively.
4. Ability to design and implement health information programs and campaigns.
5. Ability to conduct surveys and studies for assessing the health education needs, opportunities and resources of the community.
Preferred Qualifications : Completion of a master's degree in public health education or Completion of a bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral or biological sciences or a directly related field AND one year of experience in public health education AND certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands : Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds, may work outside with hot temperatures.
Salary Information : $23/ Hr. | Up to 29 hrs./ week | Part-time No Benefits
