Pay Range: $70,304.00 - $105,435.20
Summary: *Hours/Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
*Hybrid (50/50) Remote/Hospital
The Infection Control and Prevention Coordinator manages infection surveillance for Altru Health System, which includes the collection of, analyzing, and reporting of data to the medical staff and the rest of the health system. This position functions as an educator for the health system and also as a liaison with external systems and regulatory agencies.
Essential Job Functions: - Designs and/or implements infection surveillance systems and focused Infection Control studies.
- Collects and analyzes surveillance data using continuous quality improvement tools with epidemiological and scientific methods and communicates findings to appropriate medical staff, departments, nursing units, and committees.
- Develops and monitors the effectiveness of the dialysis infection control program assuring that regulations and best practice principles are applied.
- Develops and monitors compliance regarding infection control policies and procedures.
- Facilitates investigations of communicable disease or outbreaks.
- Functions as a liaison with external systems or regulatory agencies regarding infection control.
- Functions as a resource and educator for staff, physicians, and community regarding infection control.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Certifications
- Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Preferred | HR Primary Sources
- Professional Licensure (MLS, MT, CLS) | North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice | Preferred | HR Primary Sources
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC)* | Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology | HR Primary Sources
- Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Driver's License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
- May be licensed as RN or MLS
- Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of education, leadership may consider an Associate's degree and 5 years of applicable experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in clinical, nursing, healthcare safety, infection prevention, accreditation or healthcare management setting required.
- Obtaining Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is an expectation of this position within three years of start date. Details can be discussed and planned with leadership.
