Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
Electro-Mechanical Assembly & SMT/PCBA

Fusion Optix, a Woburn MA manufacturing company, is at the forefront of the sustainable LED lighting industry. Products produced in our clean, air-conditioned factory, include rigid and flexible LED boards, LED tape, and integrated LED lighting assemblies. 

Due to our business growth and expansion; we are looking for a proactive, talented production or manufacturing engineer to join our team. You will become part of a friendly and talented team, and will be assigned a broad range of engineering tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role is likely a electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer with some prior experience in an electronic assembly environment.

About The Role:

• Engineering level member of a talented and friendly production team.
• Work with other operation functions to ensure all work orders, specifications, and drawings are accurate before beginning production.
• Pre-production design verification of PCB layouts in Altium.
• Design stencil layouts for use in production process.
• Program and setup SMT/PCBA "pick-and-place" equipment for start of production runs.
• Monitor equipment data and maintain data collection methodologies and production logs.
• On-floor production support for operators and equipment troubleshooting.
• Support quality control procedures during production including utilization of test and measurement equipment (training provided).
• Work with other production team members to support continuous improvement and LEAN activities, reduce waste, and apply Lean manufacturing techniques.
• Participate in weekly production meetings.

About You:
The successful candidates will have:

• 3+ years relevant experience in a manufacturing company.
• Engineering qualification in relevant subjects, e.g. mechanical, EE, electro-mechanical.
• Some experience designing PCB layouts, ideally in Altium.
• Prior experience of SMT/PCB equipment is ideal, though not essential.
• Mechanically minded, practical, comfortable in a manufacturing environment, and able to operate/ program production equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good attention to detail and good numeracy ability.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
