Summary

Austin Powder is seeking to hire a full-time Electrical Technician to join our team at our Red Diamond Manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic systems, controls, and equipment. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Perform safety and general electrical inspections on instrumentation and equipment.
• Work with the Maintenance Planner to schedule and complete electrical preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Ensure all repairs follow the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Work with 480-Volt 3 Phase power and equipment controls.
• Work with Engineering to investigate and resolve reoccurring breakdowns.
• Assist with loop tuning and device calibrations.
• Attend maintenance meetings.
• Monitor parts inventory levels and communicate any issues to the Maintenance Planner.
• Enter work orders into the system.
• Assist with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Identify potential safety issues and make recommendations for action or resolution.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• 18+ years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of apprenticeship, vocational, or experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to read electrical schematics and one-line drawings.
• Ability to bend and install conduit.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC and VFD devices.
• Ability to use ohmmeters, meggers, circuit tracing devices, and hart communication devices to troubleshoot.
• Ability to effectively communicate with various departments and team members.
• Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 50Ibs, and work at heights.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Possess basic math skills.
• Possess reading and comprehension skills.

Work Environment This position will be exposed to all elements of the weather on the plant site.
