- Provide technical support to construction in their completion of the installation of electrical materials and equipment.
- Contribute directly to the installation and construction of electrical systems and equipment for the entire facility per approved design.
- Support work may include the use of SETROUTE, Revit and ETAP for the GBSD design.
- Individual must have an understanding of electrical discipline drawings such as wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, single line diagrams, schematics, and electrical equipment and raceway layout drawings
- Provide technical support to construction in the completion of the electrical materials and equipment.
- Work with project office electrical engineers and designers.
- Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for applicability to electrical design documents.
- Prepare design solutions for quick resolution of FCDs.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Coordinate closely with other disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
- Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks.
Skills Required
- 3 years of related experience, or in lieu of degree, 7 years of related experience.
- Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes and standards.
- Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.
- Knowledge of electrical raceway design and equipment layout.
- Knowledge in use of the Company's Corporate Guides and Standards.
- Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program.
- Hands-on experience using Revit MEP.
- Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.
- Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
- Prior experience working with construction on an active job site.
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
Education/Training/Certifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 1 year of related experience or AA/AS degree
Additional Requirements
- US citizenship is required per contract requirement.
- Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance
