Job description

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for leading editing and writing efforts to ensure all York College content — digital and printed — is accurate, relevant, and interesting, and supports and shares the mission and vision of the College.



OUTCOME :
York College's mission and vision are shared through storytelling to its various stakeholders through appropriate communication channels.

• Serves as chief copywriter, copyeditor, and project manager of York College  alumni magazine and Cultural Series promotional materials. 40%
• Manages the production of content for the College's content strategy calendar, working with internal staff, interns, and outside vendors (if needed). 30%
• Provides primary editorial support for projects produced by the Office of Communications and Department of Institutional and Enrollment Marketing; edits projects from other campus offices as well through project management platform (Workzone). 20%
• Supervises, supports, and guides the writer position and interns. 5%
• Establishes a high standard for writing that can be effectively emulated by the campus community through the production of the York College Editorial Style Guide. 5%

• Four-year degree in a related field (i.e., communications, journalism, English)
• 7-10 years of strong writing and editing experience
