Location: Norwood Office
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Salary: $85,000
Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Employment:
- Manages the recruitment process for exempt and nonexempt employees to recruit and hire a superior workforce, handles all new hire orientation and benefits processing.
Employee Relations:
- Assists with the development of HR policies for the company regarding employee relations.
- Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
- Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship.
Counsels managers on employment issues.
Benefits and Law:
- Provides day-to-day benefits administration services, including Disability, unemployment, FMLA, COBRA, and worker’s compensation claims, issues and reporting, and ACA rules and compliance.
- Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
- Understands and complies with all existing Local, State, and Federal laws and reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
- Provides guidance on HR legal issues to management.
Compensation
- Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff.
HR Information Systems:
- Maintains employee-related databases and files. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
- The Human Resources Manager assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.
HR Manager Requirements
- Specific knowledge of current employment laws and practices.
- Experience in Benefits and Compensation administration, and other HR programs.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and organizational skills, with effective oral and written communication.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Background and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent.
- 5+ experience in Human Resources positions.
- Current certification of PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations preferred.
- Current experience with Paycor Payroll Systems preferred.
