Job description

Position Description: 

The Assistant Director is a full-time administrator at the Moravian Academy Swain Campus, for grades Preschool through 8. The Assistant Director carries a principal or collaborative responsibility for the following roles: building leader, community steward, communication specialist, problem-solver, and supportive leader for faculty and students. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of the Swain Campus, serves as second in the chain of command for safety and security, and is a member of the campus leadership team. This is a 12-month position.

The effective administrator will have a strong background in the daily life of independent schools and experiences supporting teachers and students that integrate social, emotional, and academic learning through Responsive Classroom or a similar approach. Effective administrators will exhibit their passion and joy for working with children, their commitment to supporting colleagues, students, and their families, outstanding communication skills and follow-up, and an enthusiasm for keeping up with current and future practices in student-centered, culturally responsive education.
