Job Description Summary

Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the electrical infrastructure and electrical equipment of buildings, facilities, and shop production processes. Perform analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, and safety processes, and recommend and implement improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and management of the site’s electrical distribution system to include electrical high-yard incoming 115Kv to 13.8Kv systems & equipment, substation gear, & underground cable systems.
• Coordinate all maintenance and project work associated with site’s electrical system with both in-house GE trades, load dispatchers, and outside maintenance contractors.
• Prepare budgetary costs for system and equipment repairs and replacements.
• Scope and Bid upgrade and improvement projects, track for master planning.
• Support all NYS utility surveys & audits, Arc Flash Studies, and Energy Conservation efforts and rebates applications for NYSERDA and National Grid.
• Track, compile, and keep current all electrical utility costs, distribution information, meter readings, etc.
• Support all site electrical projects as the subject matter expert. Including machine tool & crane installations, test equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics, dig permits, employee electrical training, etc.
• Maintain and keep current GE Electrical Specification 1000 machine tool standard.
• Act as primary sign-off for green tag and MOC process for new installations.
• Give work direction and guidance to GE hourly utilities load dispatchers.
• Direct electrical switching activities and provide written procedures when needed.
• Support, coordinate, and communicate all load shedding activities for power curtailments.
• Maintain facilities Laser-Fiche drawing database system.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum 6 years engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with high voltage.

Desired Characteristics

• P.E. License a plus but not a requirement.
• Good project management skills.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Facilities & Electrical Distribution.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer Skills in Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Proficient in use of MAXIMO or similar CMMS Software.
• Working Knowledge of AutoCad or Similar CAD package.

The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

T his position is also eligible for 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
