Job description
Adjunct Faculty – River Valley Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach courses in Humanities and/or Philosophy in our Liberal Arts Department. Classes will be taught asynchronously online and include courses such as Myth in U.S. Culture; Humanities in Western Culture; Topics in World Culture; and Introduction to Philosophy.
While adjunct appointments vary semester to semester, it is expected that the teaching load for this position will include one to two courses per semester, including a summer term.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s level coursework in the discipline(s) is required; a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.Experience: Minimum two years’ experience teaching in an online/remote environment preferred. Ability to integrate open educational materials as appropriate for the course content.
Adjunct Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
