Job description

We have a permanent full-time position for a Treatment Plant Operator in our Wastewater Treatment Team based at Bell Island near Nelson. Within our dynamic team environment, the focus is on continual process improvement and optimisation, always looking to the future. Out of the box thinking and a positive can-do approach to problem solving is must. **Key tasks in this role include:** * Ensuring optimal day to day operation of the treatment system, this includes the treatment plant as well as the associated pump stations and pressure reticulation network * Working autonomously and as part of an experienced team of operators and mechanical engineers * Monitoring and trending of plant data and identifying abnormalities based upon laboratory, process data, and site trend results * Problem solving of treatment and mechanical issues, responding quickly to problems, escalating as necessary and developing initiatives to further optimise the treatment process * Implementation of preventative maintenance programmes **The successful applicant will ideally have the following skills and attributes:** * Qualified or currently studying towards a water industry qualification ie NZ Certificate or Diploma in Wastewater.
