Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As our Jr. Product Manager, you will be responsible for the overall health and development of the PSC (Particle System Characterization) product line. You will gather requirements from the field to guide the development of NPDI and ensure field sales teams have high quality, robust products that can be delivered at the lowest cost in a timely manner to the market. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Assuming responsibilities for the overall health of PSC products-
- Analyzing key business reports and preparing a dashboard with KPIs indicating overall health of PSC active lifecycle products and ongoing PSC projects.
- Identifying systematic issues affecting PSC product line health and potential risks that could impact NPDI projects and provide recommendations to make measurable improvements.
- Working closely with R&D, manufacturing teams, and external partners to execute continuous improvement initiatives to support improvements in KPIs.
- Identifying and resolving key customer issues-
- Tracking metrics related to customer satisfaction, in conjunction with MSG, in order to identify systematic issues that need to be resolved.
- Delivering sustainable tools to customers and field sales teams that can be used to improve customer satisfaction, specifically related to product training.
- Guiding projects through the NPDI process-
- Supporting Head of RTA to guide NPDI projects through PLM and become the PSC PLM champion through all milestones from ideation to retirement.
- Working with customers and field teams to gather requirements and define use cases for new projects.
- Using best practices to work across a matrix organization (Hardware R&D, Software R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Service, Marketing, Sales) while leveraging the PLM process fully.
- Taking ownership of product discontinuation and obsolesce activities.
- Guiding sustaining engineering projects for active lifecycle products through implementation.
- Supporting change management-
- Overseeing, managing, and prioritizing engineering changes that impact the PSC product line.
- Demo unit management-
- Overseeing and managing demo inventory for PSC business and ensuring field teams are equipped with high quality equipment and accessories that effectively supports AFTs.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, bioengineering or chemistry would be preferred, while physics, other science, or other engineering degree would be acceptable.
- Ideally 1-2 years of product management experience.
- Internship in chemical engineering or related field helpful.
- Experience with hands on chemistry or engineering work, technical sales, or lab work is desired.
- Comfortability with occasional travel to the Boston area to visit our manufacturing site, across the country to customers or trade shows, or internationally to other Mettler Toledo sites.
