Job description

Role: Waste Jetting Technician in Customer Field Services.

 

Salary & Benefits; Salary £27,691 to £34,522 per annum dependent on experience, and based on working a 40-hour contract, annual bonus, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave plus additional days in lieu of working bank holidays, plus a wellness day and development opportunities in line with the Waste Jetting Technician progression plan. Location: We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Jetting Technician to join our customer Field Services department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you? The role will be covering Mirfield, Huddersfield and surrounding areas. You will be required to travel to different operational sites across the region; therefore, you will need a full valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.

 

Working hours: This is a permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week, working rotational 4 days on 4 days off work patterns. Once fully trained, you will be expected to take part in an out of hours standby, therefore flexibility outside of working core hours is essential.

Where you fit?

 

A field-based technician, working independently within a geographical team working to improve customer service and sewer performance; You will be responsible for ensuring a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment whilst ensuring quality follow-on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications. Delivering a “first time fix” / same day solution to customer and environmental problems and to deliver the asset plan for network maintenance to eliminate escapes.

 

 

As a Waste Jetting Technician, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the jetting vehicle (jet van) in line with national standards and codes of practice for the safe working and use and of water jetting in drains and sewers. You will always ensure the correct site set up is in place and risk assessments are completed prior to work commencing.

 

 

To safely proactively and reactively maintain the sewerage system to promote and implement solutions which resolve and/or prevent a sewage escape (flooding and pollution) from occurring from the wastewater network and to ensure no repeats take place. You will be required to work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and our contracted partners on site to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network.

 

 

You will undertake thorough and timely investigations on our sewerage system to resolve issues and prevent repeat customer contacts and support other operational teams with investigations into sewer asset problems. You will need to be able to utilise IT systems to collate information and relay feedback including plans and photographs.
