POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a System Security Engineer who demonstrates expertise in multiple facets of application development, IT administration, and IT security to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in CI/CD processes, application development and maintenance, data pipeline creation, and building automations. A keen instinct for swiftly addressing security events is crucial. As a pivotal figure in our security strategy, you'll be entrusted with the important task of safeguarding our organization's assets and data. This position is 100% remote and would be preferred in the following local markets: Chicago, Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix. Travel is expected to be between 20-30% to regional data center site across the U.S. as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Azure Integration: Deep experience in leveraging Azure's security services to bolster our organization's security posture. Drive the integration of Azure tools in our security infrastructure.
- CI/CD Integration: Experienced with using CI/CD pipelines, ensuring safe, security, and efficient deployment of applications.
- Application Development and Maintenance: Proactively design, build, and maintain applications with security best practices in mind. Familiarity with the following scripting and programming languages are a plus: Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, C++
- Incorporate Advanced Technologies: Harness the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance security measures, detect anomalies, and predict vulnerabilities.
- SIEM: Ensure effective logging, monitoring, and management of security-related events. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing SIEM for detailed investigations and precise searches to uncover and analyze potential threats.
- Data Pipeline Creation: Develop and maintain secure data pipelines to streamline data flow without compromising security.
- Automations Development: Spearhead the design and execution of security automations, striving not just for enrichment but also aiming to fully automate processes to minimize manual interventions wherever feasible.
- Security Event Response: Monitor and analyze security events, taking swift action to mitigate risks and potential threats.
- Incident Response: Promptly respond to security incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies and procedures.
- Security Assessments: Regularly conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and strategize their remediation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust security measures.
- Penetration Testing: Perform detailed penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to unearth potential weaknesses.
- Access Management: Manage and monitor access controls and authentication systems to protect company assets.
- Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest security trends and technologies, ensuring our practices align with industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system security engineering, with a strong emphasis on Azure environments and its security services.
- In-depth understanding of information security principles, especially in the context of CI/CD usage, integration, application development, and data pipeline creation.
- Hands-on experience with Azure security tools and services, as well as traditional security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Proficiency with network protocols and architecture, particularly within Azure cloud environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in automating security processes to completion, reducing the need for manual interventions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in communicating intricate security concepts effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- CISSP, Azure Security Engineer certification, or other relevant credentials are highly desirable.
The pay range for this role is between $120,000 - $160,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
