Community Coordinator for Library Initiatives
Big Ten Academic Alliance

The Big Ten Academic Alliance, the consortium of the Big Ten universities, has an opening for a community coordinator. The Community Coordinator for Library Initiatives provides logistical and practical support for strategic initiatives, programs, and related communications that advance the goals of the BIG Collection. Under the direction of the Assistant Director for the Library Initiatives Team, the Community Coordinator will coordinate, implement, and manage logistics for specific initiatives, events, and programs. This position is designed with flexibility in the terms of employment location. Actual terms of employment will be negotiated with the finalist candidates, but could include such things as being located at our headquarters in Champaign, IL.

The Library Initiatives team works to create capacities for our member libraries. The team coordinates, facilitates, moderates, and hosts with a focus on connecting, convening, leading, planning, communicating, and celebrating. Working to build and maintain a 'center' that can hold the highest ideals of collective action and interdependence, the Library Initiatives team develops goals and milestones to support the advancement of the BIG Collection.

Appointment Information:


This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Minimum salary for this position is $65,000.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
