JOB GOAL:
The Coordinator of School Climate will serve as the catalyst and liaison linking the District's priority for positive school climate in collaboration with principals and the Office of Student Services and will: implement a comprehensive, system-wide, framework for safe schools, strengthen and expand student support service efforts, develop a positive behavior support plan to provide early, effective assistance to students for behavioral interventions, and create a healthy school environment that is conducive to learning and working in schools.
Essential and Marginal Functions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the design and sustained implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to systematically address the behavioral and social need of students.
- Oversee the implementation of district initiatives to improve school climate and culture.
- Provide coaching to school teams to develop a systematic process for delivering advanced tier supports to students that are regularly monitored and assessed to ensure fidelity of implementation and effectiveness of intervention.
- Facilitate ongoing communication regarding students receiving advanced tier supports with vested parties including parents/guardians, treatment facilities, referral agencies, and School District of Lancaster, as needed.
- Gather, analyze and utilize data to ensure that programs are achieving a positive academic return on investment, meeting desired outcomes, and that there is evidence of effectiveness.
- Assist school teams with referral forms, intervention determination, data collection, progress monitoring, and data analysis to ensure appropriate levels of tiered interventions for students.
- Collaborate with the Office of Teaching and Learning to streamline a systematic approach to supporting student needs.
- Provide ongoing professional development to staff to increase understanding of diverse cultures, culturally relevant practices and encourage reflective practice and build cultural awareness.
- Prepare reports to support PBIS (Tier I,II, III) teams analysis and sharing of data with whole staff on a quarterly basis.
- Guide PBIS (Tier I, II, III) teams through the completion of evidence based evaluations to ensure the implementation of supports at each tier with fidelity.
- Assist schools with developing and sustaining tiered attendance practices, interventions, and celebrations to reduce absenteeism.
- Support schools with the Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth (AEDY) process to ensure fidelity, due process, and completion of the process.

- Provide assistance in specific skill buildings areas as needed.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; Master's required, Supervisory Certificate preferred
- Direct experience in personnel management; proven ability to support and oversee projects and understand the diverse systems in which they work.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Lancaster City/County human services, School District of Lancaster, behavioral, and non-cognitive supports; as well as other regional and national best practice evidence based interventions.
- Strong background working with diverse needs.
- Demonstrated ability in working in partnership with parents, community behavioral health/treatment agencies, and School Districts as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Highly effective presentation, written, and communication skills.
- Experience facilitating parent and/or educator workshops.
- Bilingual preferred.

Supplemental Information REPORTS TO: Office of Student Services
SUPERVISES: Co-Supervise Tiered Support Team Leaders and Deans
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full year. Salary to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance is evaluated in accordance with the Compensation and Performance Evaluation Plan for School and District Leaders.
