Job description
This is a full-time position that is responsible for selling equipment and parts for the oil and gas industry, including casing, tubing, valves and fittings, wellheads, sucker rods, tanks, fiberglass and poly pipe, etc. to call-in and walk-in customers, as well as ordering required products to fill these orders. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Accurately taking sales orders from customers at the front counter and over the phone.
- Ordering, receiving, and stocking required inventory.
- Developing commercial quotes and proposals to maximize the overall profitability of the Supply Store.
- Meeting reporting requirements as set by the Store Manager for assigned customer calls and time management efficiencies.
- Working with the Store Manager to develop business forecasts and yearly budgets.
- Ensuring inventory accuracy and conducting required inventory counts and/or audits.
- Maintaining and enforcing quality standards.
- Providing product prices, delivering specifications, and payment terms. Offering substitute products where appropriate.
- Working to understand customer’s business, their requirements, and expectations to recommend specific products and make value-added recommendations to increase sales.
- Communicating with outside sales team to maintain proper levels of inventory to meet customer requirements.
- Using and maintaining assigned company vehicles and other assets.
- Developing professional working relationships with suppliers and other business partners.
- Creating purchase orders and sales orders as required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education with two (2) years of related inside sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of all types of oilfield equipment including Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG).
- Knowledge of oil and gas exploration, completion and production processes.
- Highly skilled in oral and written communications; listens and acquires clarification, and responds well to questions.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to successfully work in an unsupervised environment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
