Print Room Foreman Location Decatur, IL :
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision of the License Plate Production Manager and indirect supervision of the Director of Sales & Production, the Print Room Foreman provides day to day operation of the print room, supervision of staff and individuals in work training and meets license plate quantity and quality contract requirements. The Print Room Foreman will follow Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI) safety regulations and is responsible for work training in support of (re)habilitation efforts for individuals in training within the area to meet agency policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates printers to print and reproduce a variety of images; establishes project time lines and priorities; coordinates workflow and printing activities to assure project accuracy and completeness in accordance with established specifications and time lines;
- Receives, reviews and prioritizes work submitted for printing and reproduction; prepares, develops and updates production schedules; proofreads work and originals to assure completeness, quality and clarity of original image; adjusts offset press controls for size, type, weight and thickness of sheeting; prepares plates for printing; reduces and enlarges text and images as needed;
- Trains and provides work direction and guidance to assigned personnel; develops employee work schedules; coordinates staff work assignments and reviews work to assure accuracy, completeness and compliance with established standards and procedures;
- Serves as a liaison and technical resource regarding printing services and projects; coordinates communications between print supplier for technical assistance.
- Leads and participates in the preparation and set-up of printers for operation and printing activities, selecting and adjusting settings and specifications as appropriate; determines and loads appropriate material; performs multi-color and close register work; assures proper ink and water levels are maintained for accurate color, balance and registration.
- Prepares and sets ups printers for extended production runs and monitors equipment during the duplication process;
- Monitors inventory levels of inventory, ink and other printing supplies; orders, receives and maintains adequate inventory of supplies to meet needs of projects and incoming orders; confers with vendors regarding orders and equipment operations;
- Practices and enforces safe work practices in accordance with policies and procedures.

License Plate Technician I and II
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- One or more years previous experience with graphic design and/or printing; experience in (re)habilitation and/or industrial manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Must be able to meet the following physical capabilities:
- lift and carry 50 pounds;
- full range of mobility: push, pull, turn, balance, handle, stoop, kneel, reach;
- good eyesight, depth perception, color vision, eye/hand coordination, acuity-field of vision and acuity-near;
- maneuver in between work tables/settings;
- good speech and hearing;
- good hand and finger dexterity.
- Must be able to work in the following environment with:
- temperature variations;
- noise and vibration variations;
- light and ventilation variations;
- moving objects.
- Must be able to learn to safely and effectively operate digital computer automated printers; industrial press-brake equipment, and conveyor equipment within a specified time frame.
- Must be able to learn to utilize a computer software system for manufacturing license plates.
