Role Description : We are looking to add a full-time on-site Mechanical Engineer to our team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for conceptual design, creating construction drawings, and code consultation on projects including HVAC and plumbing systems, pressure vessels, and industrial Baghouse systems. The role will include creating detailed design drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, coordinating with other engineers, and performing calculations and simulations to ensure designs are safe and efficient. This role is located in Greenville, SC.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform building heating and cooling load calculations for HVAC equipment sizing and design.
- Design and assist with drafting building Mechanical and Plumbing systems using AutoCAD to produce permit and construction drawings for design projects.
- Pipe Sizing for Chilled Water, Steam and Gas systems.
- Boiler, Air compressor, Process Blower and Pump Sizing based on calculated loads.
- Perform site visits to see the installation process to ensure design objectives are being met and to learn how to improve future designs based on constructability.
- Apply standard engineering design principles and methodologies as well as applicable codes in the preparation of construction documents.
- Lead conceptual and schematic design phases of projects to ensure design fundamentals meet client expectations and code requirements.
- Prepare design documentation including drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, etc.
- Prepare specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents.
- Assist in presentations to prospective clients. Participate in client presentations as needed.
- Help manage RFIs and Submittals on design projects.
- Prepare proposals in response to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) including development of competitive pricing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) designation
- Minimum of five years related experience.
- Strong aptitude in engineering design.
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office).
- Well developed, detail oriented organizational skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Ability to perform calculations and simulations.
- Experience with project management and team collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
