SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Systems Administrator to oversee the management, configuration, and optimization of our accounting systems and software. As an Accounting Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems and processes. Your primary responsibilities will include system maintenance, troubleshooting, user support, data integrity management, and continuous improvement of accounting systems and related processes. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, coupled with exceptional technical skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain the organization’s accounting systems, including the PP&E (iSuites), general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting systems.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of financial data within the accounting systems.
- Collaborate with the Company’s Divisions to analyze and document system requirements, identify areas for improvement, and implement system enhancements and updates.
- Provide training to end-users.
- Monitor system enhancements and new releases. Determine impact on existing processes.
- Create and execute test plans and communicate results to ensure proper functionality is delivered.
- Coordinate with external vendors and IT personnel to resolve system-related issues and implement system upgrades and patches.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting accounting systems, and proactively recommend system enhancements to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Conduct audits and data integrity checks to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accounting systems with other business applications.
- Interact with auditors (internal and external) for internal controls over financial reporting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accounting Systems Administrator or similar role is required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, and Accounting IT skills required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, JDEdwards is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Understanding of SOX 404 is preferred.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards in relation to financial systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Effective communication skills to provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- The ability to work in the evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently.
- This position requires up to 10-15% travel to both domestic and international locations.
Additional:
- This position is bonus eligible with a target of 17.5%. Bonuses are paid in February.
- This position is hybrid eligible. We allow up to two days per week working remotely with the remainder in the office.
- We are open to relocating someone.
- Most years the travel stays around 10%. Also, the international travel does not occur every year and generally comes up in relation to specific one-off projects.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field. Emphasis on an accounting or finance degree.
- Candidates need to have both an accounting and systems background.
- They use JD Edwards but would accept experience in SAP or other similar application.
- Candidate must support lower-level functions such as providing user access, assisting users with technical and other issues, and other “help desk” type duties and higher-level functions like acting as a consultant to other divisions. They should have experience with user support.
- Candidates will interact frequently with upper management. Must be personable and professional.
- Candidates need experience within the application and not just managing it from the server side.
- Experience with system conversions/new implementations is strongly preferred.
- This position works regularly with internal and external audit to monitor user security, segregation of duties, etc.
