The Microsoft Compass Program is a customer engagement R&D program that serves Microsoft's Experiences & Devices division (think all of our collaboration experiences including Office, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, Windows, Devices, and more). As part of our Planning & Research team, we enable any individual within E&D to connect directly with customers to understand who they are building for, what they need and why, and how to design the best experiences to meet those needs.
While Compass connects engineers to customers nearly every day through ad hoc engagements, one of the main ways we engage with customers is through our events, most notably our Compass Connect events. We invite our participating customer enterprises to meet with a diverse set of product teams for the purpose of receiving non-public updates, providing feedback, co-creating to solve new problems, and growing deeper relationships with Microsoft. Each Compass Connect includes a variety of formats to deliver on these goals, from presentations to design sprints. What makes our event unique is the multiple opportunities for mutual learning and understanding. These events include about 50-100 customers and 50-100 Microsoft employees. The Compass Connect event planned for May 2024 will likely be hybrid (in-person/online).
