Job Summary:  

The Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer supports all aspects of the manufacturing test process of Gigamon’s products from NPI to sustaining support at our world-wide manufacturing sites. You will work cross-functionally to ensure the test processes and their implementation to production provide the highest quality of products through optimal test coverage. You will support the test process for worldwide production, providing timely resolution for all test process issues and ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality products.  You can grow your expertise in test automation and production in a high-tech manufacturing environment.  Hands-on training and opportunities to develop your career will be provided.  

Essential Functions:  

• Develop, implement, and maintain a highly effective manufacturing test process to ensure product quality, minimize costs, and reduce our time to market for new products.
• Work with Design Engineering to ensure that new products are validated and issues are resolved before their introduction to production.
• Develop test automation scripts and validate them before product launch.
• Document test processes for new products.
• Perform test process gap analysis and drive continuous test improvement.
• Evaluate and optimize test coverage.
• Provide feedback to other engineering groups to get issues resolved.
• Reduce test cycle time by eliminating redundant testing and implementing efficient testing (test script optimization)
• Manage the transfer and set up of new products or new software to a manufacturing site.
• Review new software releases and develop solid and robust test process scripts.

Requirements:  

• Experience using GUI-based programming tools and their ability to be controlled via CLI commands by a program or script.
• Scripting language experience to support existing scripts and for developing new production programming and test scripts.  Experience with Visual Basic Script running in SecureCRT and developing scripts in Python.  Knowledge of Perl will be a plus.
• Knowledge of programming devices like CPLD, FPGA, and Flash memory will be helpful.
• Experience with setting up, supporting, and using Windows PCs as ‘test stations’ on small/medium multi-switch LANs.  Knowledge of Linux servers and network topologies.
• Ability to configure and print labels on Zebra printers.
• Willingness to remotely support the manufacturing test process at our CMs.
• Work with existing test infrastructure and maintain and improve upon it.
• Good verbal/written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express ideas clearly.
• Domestic and international travel may be required to transfer products and provide on-site training.
• Willingness to work across time zones to collaborate with teams in APAC, India and Mexico.

Education & Experience:  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• New graduates and candidates with a few years of experience working in a high-tech environment will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to develop test code in scripting languages.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon’s Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $92,000 - $115,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
