Adult Services Librarian - Tech Help
Part-Time Temporary

Hiring Pay: $19.50/Hour
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Not Eligible for all Benefits, Will Accrue Paid Sick Time

Work Schedule:
- One (1) - 19 hour per week position. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required or Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited library school preferred. At least one year of experience in a library or related setting providing customer service to adults.
Essential Duties:
- Delivers one-to-one technology instruction and small group technology instruction
- Supports patrons in using public computers and mobile devices
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and library customers
- Provides professional front-line library public service work using all types of communication resources, including print, non-print (DVDs, audiobooks), Internet and electronic resources
- Provides reader's advisory assistance
- Uses authoritative resources to answer questions and make referrals
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics:
- Ability to establish relationships with the public and provide effective customer service in a professional manner
- Skill in proactively using technology to perform job or enhance customer experience
- Ability to deliver one-to-one and small group technology instruction
- Skill with diverse software applications and ability to learn new technologies independently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software as well as Windows and MAC operating systems
- Experience with Android and iOS mobile devices
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and discretion in performance of duties
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of sources and materials in both print and electronic formats and searching methods and procedures

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a library environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push materials including full book carts, book bins, and lifting tubs weighing up to 50 pounds
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, tablet, telephone, and e-reader
Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:
