Pay Range: $22-$24/hour
The Job: Do you love caring for children and have a positive customer service attitude? If so, this might be the role for you! As a Fitness Childcare Attendant you will engage with the youngest members of our community in a loving, supportive and age-appropriate way. Children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old participate in this service. You will ensure that the children are safe, cared for and having fun in their parent’s absence. Building trust by communicating with the parents is also critical in this role.

The Core Duties:
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for children ages 6 weeks – 10 years old and their parents/caregivers
- Provide a safe environment for everyone
- Build relationships with parents to better understand their family’s needs
- Engage with children through games, crafts, reading books, playing with toys and other age-appropriate activities
- Communicate with parents regarding a child’s visit and necessary payment for services (phone, email and in person)
- Help facilitate snacks or bottle feeding as instructed by parent/caregiver
The Essentials:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children preferred
- Creative thinker who knows how to engage children across different age groups
- Willing to obtain certification from the Positive Coaching Alliance
- A passion for fitness and health with an upbeat and positive attitude!
- Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members of any age or background and co-workers, exceeding the member’s expectations
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral)
- Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when required
- Strong listener with the ability to empathize with others and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Cleared Background Check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check and Medical/TB exam)
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED Certified (must have within 30 days of hire)
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language
- Work weekends/evenings/holidays as needed
- Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
