Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful: - Perform duties to meet Program and Program Director requirements per OSBN standards for a CNA program
- Responsible for onboarding clinical staff and providing ongoing in-service and education as well as primary teachers for grant projects
- Develop and conduct in-class training for all licensed care employees based on yearly educational plan for Health Services
- Oversee clinical competency training and preceptor program
- Develop and maintain relationships with local college and university nursing programs at OHSU, Linfield, and University of Portland in order to host nursing students
- Create an engaging environment for new employees by welcoming them with enthusiasm and introducing them to coworkers and managers who have been made aware of the new employee's arrival creating a sense of belonging
- Meet with managers to evaluate and discuss new employee's performance and provide timely, information-specific, and issue-focused coaching and feedback
- Oversee and develop the maintenance of Mary's Woods Healthcare Compliance in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services, Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) and Administrative Alerts
- Assist in the development and implementation of an effective orientation program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees and collaboration with veteran staff and Unit Managers
- Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences
- Function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds
- Seek opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvement
Qualifications: - Holds an unencumbered RN License in the State of Oregon
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Clinical experience in Gerontology preferred
- ACLS and specialty certifications required
- Minimum of three years' experience developing and conducting training in a healthcare environment to ensure adult education competency
- Educator experience in long term care preferred
- Current BLS certification required
