Job Title: Tower Technician III


Location: Arkansas

Summary:

The Tower Technician III performs tower installations and maintenance on various communication structures, including troubleshooting alarms and RSSI issues, performing electrical and mechanical tilts, and completing required paperwork.

Responsibilities:

Install radios, antennas, and associated RF equipment
Troubleshoot alarms and RSSI issues using sweep gear
Perform electrical and mechanical tilts to antennas using controller units
Run jumpers and devise jumper connections with knowledge from connector training
Complete equipment and supply paperwork
Climb various communication structures and perform safety, defect, and quality audits
Follow daily instructions and shift reports
Apply job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years of related experience
Valid state-issued driver's license
Certified Tower Climber (via Gravitec Systems, Inc. or ComTrain)

Physical Demands:

Climb and descend all types of tower and rooftop structures
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to travel as needed

Recommended Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Mount, align, cable, and test antennas, radios, and associated equipment
Complete full grounding installations, tower demolition, tower stripping, and painting
Competent climber and rigger with knowledge of standard knots
Trained in a controlled descent, use of aerial lifts, and procedures on working platforms and cable bridges
Knowledge of UMTS and 4G, microwave equipment, and basic electricity, grounding, and power safety
Terminate cables and fix connectors and antenna systems
Install coaxial cable on towers, rooftops, and any structure
Strong troubleshooting skills in equipment, coax, and fiber
Expertise in fiber testing, PIM, and sweep testing
Ability to work closely with others, mentor and field train lower-level technicians, and communicate effectively
Familiarity with PIM gear and troubleshooting
TMO experience preferred, as well as past Verizon or RTWP experience and breakfix experience
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Rescue certification, Anritsu, and/or OSHA certification preferred

Other Details:

The company reimburses eligible employees $30 per pay period/$780 annually for use of personally owned cell phones for business use. The employee must abide by the BYOD policy to carry out their duties.
