JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the economical procurement and contracting of highly technical and specialized complex commodities. This position manages various commodities that may include goods and services (both professional and non-professional), construction, insurance, Universal Service Fund (E-Rate) and IT as well as special projects and prevailing wage. This position has considerable knowledge in public procurement with specific knowledge and skills for construction and facilities' CIP projects. Work requires engagement and collaboration with school and department leadership. Responds to vendors, and community on procurement matters. This position requires procurement expertise including excellent oral and written communication skills. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and decision-making. Work is reviewed by the Supervisor of Purchasing through conferences and reports for conformance with established policies, procedures, purchasing regulations, the Virginia Public Procurement Act and Federal Law as required. This position recommends policy or procedural changes, gives presentations, provides training, and supervises subordinate staff. This position remains informed on procurement legislation and best practices.

SALARY:
Grade 15: $89,335 - $171,177 per year (competitive benefits)<
