Job description

Title : Power Supply Designer (Magnetics/EMI Filter Design)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (on site only)

Length of Contract : 6 to 12 months

The client is currently engaged in three projects necessitating the expertise of one to two senior power supply engineers proficient in magnetics. Two of these projects are in the design phase, while the third was outsourced but failed to meet specifications, potentially requiring a redesign. The engineers will be tasked with both design and testing, utilizing an in-house test bench. Familiarity with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and current meters would be advantageous. Additionally, knowledge of buck and boost converters is preferred. The choice of topology has not been finalized, allowing the engineer(s) to provide input.

The projects involve isolated loads, thus requiring magnetics expertise. Voltage supply ranges from 6 to 48 volts down to the cards, necessitating isolated loads within specified power limits. High efficiency gains are also a priority.
