Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company. Its experienced corps of Imagineers oversees the creation - from concept initiation through installation - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects.
You will report to the Product Development Assistant Manager.
This is a 2+ year Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
The Product Development Coordinator will be a key supporting staff member of the PD team. Through strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and working in a highly organized manner, this individual will work to ensure all product lines are brought to life on time by supporting the routing and processing of product approvals, development tracking, coordinating communication with internal and external partners, and general administrative support.
Assist PD Assistant Manager with projects including presentations, data reports, scheduling, and new project launches.
Attend team meetings to discuss any updates on product development that could/will impact the calendar deadline.
Collaborate with Product Designers to ensure project timeline is on track.
Follow up on all outstanding development matters to ensure the product line is completed on time.
Request product samples from vendors; understand costs, technical drawings, and estimated factory deliveries for all products.
Maintain the product database (PLM) on a regular basis, with accuracy and in a timely manner.
Pivotal in ensuring collections are ordered and presented accurately and timely.
Develop and maintain current knowledge of assigned product collections.
Assist with problem-solving needs as associated with the product development process.
Provide excellent assistance to internal departments inquiring about product information.
Plan for and complete all product layouts and data sheets to support internal department needs (e-commerce, marketing, etc.).
Work with internal partners (Legal, Business Affairs, and Product Integrity) and external partners (Studios & Animation, Pixar, Lucas Film and Marvel) on approval of all products.
Follow The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Imagineering vendor sourcing criteria, and negotiate in the best interest of Walt Disney Imagineering and Mickey’s of Glendale.
Work with The Walt Disney Company Quality Assurance Program to ensure all products pass Product Safety & Reliability tests and Federal safety standards.
Merchandising
Collaborate with Product Development Assistant Manager and Sales Merchandise Lead on in-store visual design and merchandise planograms.
Loss Prevention and Administration
Actively support securing company assets through effective Loss Prevention, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Uphold all Walt Disney Company policies as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Policy Manual, and Standards of Business Conduct.
Promote and maintain a safe working and shopping environment.
1+ years of experience in product development or prior experience and/or knowledge of the The Walt Disney Company.
Strong interpersonal skills across all professional interactions, including teammates, peers, and management within and among all the Walt Disney Company Business Units.
Able to establish relationships with team members, employees, and vendors.
External/Vendor Communication (Costing, MOQ, Lead Times, Developments, etc.).
Internal/Team Communication (Purchase Orders, New Development & Additional Inquiries).
Strong computer software skills including proficiency with MS Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote.
Product lifecycle Management (PLM) system and process knowledge.
Education
2-year college degree or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $52,398.00-$70,290.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
