One of eight campuses of Indiana University, Indiana University Kokomo, is a comprehensive non-residential campus located 50 miles north of Indianapolis in Kokomo, Indiana, a city with a population of about 57,000. Basic Qualifications
The tenure track/tenured nursing faculty member is a doctoral-prepared full time faculty who holds responsibility for teaching in the nursing, for service to the nursing and SNAHP, and other constituencies relevant to the mission of the organization, and for scholarship relevant to the practice of nursing, the nursing profession, or the education of nurses. At least one of the faculty graduate degrees is in nursing. The faculty is licensed in Indiana as a registered nurse or is eligible for same.

Serve on IU Kokomo School of Nursing Committees as assigned
Serve on IU Kokomo and/or IU Committees as assigned
Provide student advising as assigned
Participate in student recruitment/retention activities
Mentor faculty and students
Engage in service outside the University (examples include):
The assistant professor role at the SNAHP includes teaching, research, and service. Appropriate university/professional/community service is also required, including committee work and engaging in campus initiatives to increase retention and enrollment. A commitment to mentoring students is preferred in our dynamic and student-centered environment. Candidates must minimally have an earned doctorate in Nursing or related field by the date of hire from an accredited program, and a master’s degree in nursing (FNP preferred but not required), and must hold a current unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Indiana. Candidates who are ABD or at a similar point in a doctoral program are eligible to apply and will be considered.
The assistant professor role at the SNAHP is particularly interested in individuals with medical surgical and/or maternity expertise.
