Husson University is looking for a well-qualified and experienced student-oriented American Sign Language (ASL) instructor to teach courses in introductory ASL beginning in fall 2022. Examples of Duties
Duties associated with teaching a college language course, including developing the syllabus, preparing lessons, choosing instructional materials, delivering classes, and rigorously grading assignments. The successful candidate must be willing to work cooperatively, following common guidelines for course content, student learning outcomes, and assessment. This includes using Husson’s Learning Management System (Canvas) and email system. Given Husson University’s mission as a professions-oriented university, the successful applicant will show appreciation for the place of language education within professional curricula. Note: This position is for on-campus instruction.Typical QualificationsPreference given for a degree in Deaf Studies or advanced training in ASL, and those with a masters degree in a related field. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred. Required: Demonstrated mastery of the language and proven ability to teach.
